Maximum Pain Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 9, 2026
Maximum Pain is an iPhone accountability coach. This policy is short because the app is built so there is almost nothing to write a policy about.
The principle
Streaks, schedules, HealthKit checks, camera COMPROMISE counting, and Focus shields all run on your iPhone. Maximum Pain has no servers of its own. We do not operate a backend that receives your workouts, camera frames, Health data, or the apps you choose to shield.
What we collect
Nothing on our side.
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- No third-party crash or marketing SDKs.
- We never see, receive, store, or have access to your camera, Health records, Screen Time selection, or profile.
What stays on your iPhone
- Profile and streak. Name, training days, intensity, coach voice, and streak live in on-device storage (SwiftData). They never leave the phone through Maximum Pain.
- HealthKit (read only). With your permission, the app reads workouts, active energy, and steps so it can mark a scheduled training day complete. We do not write samples to Health. Health data is not uploaded.
- Camera. The front camera is used only while a COMPROMISE session is open. Pose joints are detected on device with Apple’s Vision framework. Frames are not saved, not shared, and not sent anywhere.
- Focus / Screen Time. With your permission, Family Controls lets you pick apps on this iPhone and apply a system shield. Authorization is for you as an individual, not a child in a Family Sharing group. We do not read another person’s Screen Time. The list of apps you pick stays in Apple’s privacy-preserving tokens on the device.
- Notifications. Local reminders you schedule. We do not send push from a server.
The network connections, stated plainly
- App Store (Apple). Download, updates, and — if you ever buy something through the app — StoreKit purchase verification. That exchange is with Apple only. It contains no workouts, no camera, no Health samples, and no Focus app list.
- System services you already use. HealthKit, Screen Time, and notifications are Apple frameworks on your device. They may use Apple’s own infrastructure under Apple’s privacy policy. Maximum Pain does not add a second destination.
That’s all. Maximum Pain makes no other network connections and has no MAX PAIN servers.
Where your data lives
Everything the app stores is on your iPhone. Like most iPhone apps, that data can be included in your own device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup you control), protected by your Apple account. Maximum Pain itself transmits nothing — a backup is your copy, made by your device, under your settings.
Retention and deletion
- Change or clear schedule, intensity, coach, and Focus selections inside the app at any time.
- Revoke Health, Camera, or Screen Time access in iOS Settings. The app then stops reading that source.
- Deleting the app deletes everything Maximum Pain stored on the device. Copies in your own backups follow your backup settings.
Not a medical device
Maximum Pain is general wellness software for fitness coaching and personal accountability. It is not a medical device.
It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or medical condition. It is not rehabilitation, physical therapy, clinical form analysis, or a substitute for a physician, trainer, or licensed clinician.
Camera rep counts and HealthKit checks are estimates for habit tracking only. They are not clinical measurements and should not be used to make medical decisions.
Exercise carries risk of injury. Use the app only if you are healthy enough for vigorous activity. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or unusual symptoms, and consult a qualified professional. You use Maximum Pain at your own risk.
Children
Maximum Pain is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If Maximum Pain’s privacy behavior ever changes, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships. The current version always lives at this page.
